Last March, Jimmy John’s, one of America’s fastest-growing sandwich chains, rolled out its first-ever customer-loyalty program, Freaky Fast Rewards, in select markets. Now, the brand is going all-in on the program by promoting Freaky Fast Rewards with a national campaign highlighting one of the best sign-up rewards in the industry: a free 8″ sandwich after a guest places their very first order.
“We created Freaky Fast Rewards to prove to our guests that we’re committed to rewarding them for their loyalty,” said John Shea, chief marketing officer of Jimmy John’s. “And now, we’ve created this campaign to prove just how passionate we are about our sandwiches.”
To celebrate the sandwich giveaway — where everyone's a winner — the brand is launching three new television spots. Two spots feature an over-the-top host, a fictitious game show called ‘Free Sandwich The Game Show,’ and a prize wheel that has nothing but free sandwiches. The other spot, ‘Spin,’ features delivery riders training for all the free sandwiches they’re going to be delivering due to the launch of Freaky Fast Rewards.
“This game show, inspired by Freaky Fast Rewards, is the least tension-filled game show of all time,” said Matt Talbot, CCO of WorkInProgress. “Just like with Freaky Fast Rewards, if you place an order, you’re earning a free sandwich.”
Freaky Fast Rewards launched chainwide last November and has 3.4 million members signed up already. In addition to more sandwiches, fans who sign up for Freaky Fast Rewards can also earn free sides, drinks and exclusive first-taste access to new menu items.
“This is just the beginning for Freaky Fast Rewards. Keep watching, as we have some fun ‘surprises’ up our sleeves for members, which we’ll be rolling out soon,” said John.
Freaky Fast Rewards is the latest effort for Jimmy John’s following a busy 2019 that saw the brand promise never to authorise third-party delivery services to deliver its sandwiches, buy a guest a house in a Jimmy John’s delivery zone just to deliver them a Freaky Fresh sandwich and partner with Lil Jon to debut the $3 Little John–a skinny mini version of any Original sandwich.
