A letter to the industry I love.
Now is the time to help young creatives. Now is the time to give our support.
For a long time, the Creative Circle has been trying to use our profits to forge accessible pathways into the creative industries in the UK. We couldn’t do any of this without your support, and we thank you, but we can do more.
This year, we had planned to launch the first UK Creative Festival. A three-day celebration of creativity with education and inclusion at its core. We wanted to create an event dedicated to improving industry representation at all levels. But we were most excited for the festival’s careers fair. Accessible to all, including paid-for transport for young people, and planned in partnership with community outreach organisations, we saw this as helping provide that first step. In 2021, we will continue with our plans for the festival and I invite anyone to get in touch with me if they feel they can help or contribute any feedback or ideas. The Creative Circle belongs to you. We’re here to listen and learn.
This Thursday we will be digitally hosting the 2020 Creative Circle Awards. I will be discussing the festival and our future plans in further detail,
so please join us.
I hope that companies and individuals who made pledges of action to support diversity, will continue to support us and other organisations in helping to make our industry more representative.
We lead through creativity. It’s time we led through equality.
