New York and London-based animation production company and illustration agency Jelly has recently signed Lebassis as part of its Futures scheme, as a lettering artist and designer.  

Lebassis is based in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. A Young Guns 18 Winner and an It’s Nice That ‘One to Watch’, Lebassis’ bold and fresh lettering has earned him covetable clients such as Chobani, Netflix and RuPaul’s Drag Race alongside Studio Moross. 

"My purpose [as an Artist] is to show the diversity of Black people's work and that there is room for our excellence... I didn't see many people who looked like me when I started out, especially in a typography industry that mostly consists of white and straight men. There was a lack of reference from successful Black people in Design to inspire me and prove it is possible."

Leandro’s undeniable drive to diversify the industry and design with a global approach gives a unique and focused edge to his body of work. 

Lebassis uses his work as a tool to highlight what he cares most about; Black Culture, the LGBTQIA+ community and gender topics. Using his craft as a way to escape societal pressures and bullying in his younger years – he honed his skills to create his impressive portfolio today, spanning from creative assets for multi-channel campaigns to creating iconic identities for globally recognised franchises.
