Jelly and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios Unite for Architecture Illustrated

Jelly and Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios have collaborated for the London Design Festival to reinterpret six buildings through the eyes of top illustrators.

FCBStudios and Jelly London bring an alternative take on architectural representation, capturing the essence and narrative of some of FCBStudios most popular buildings in the signature style of six of the finest illustrators in the world.
On show at FCBStudios in Fitzrovia, throughout the London Design Festival, the exhibition will showcase each of the illustrators’ final pieces, capturing the character and cultural impact of the buildings.

The Illustrator and building pairings are as follows:
Alice Tye and the University of Roehampton Library

BIFF and thePlymouth School of Creative Arts
Tishk Barzanji with Manchester School of Art
Alva Skog and Royal Birmingham Conservatoire
James Dawe with Alexandra Palace
Joe Waldron with Accordia

Jason Cornish, FCBStudios said “Sketching and illustration is a very important part of FCBStudios design culture, part our day to day, it's our communication method, the way we convey and express ideas. Architecture Illustrated will add another chapter to this, challenging us, pushing the boundaries of creative collaboration. Having our buildings interpreted by Jelly’s top talent is an exciting prospect.”
Nicki Field, Jelly London said “We were beyond excited when Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios approached us with this project. So often the work our artists create is naturally 2D, so it’s great to be working with a discipline that is always 3 Dimensional and to see how those two come together. The London Design Festival is such a wonderful opportunity for various local communities to collaborate and has given us an excuse to work with our neighbours!”

Running in parallel to the exhibition, FCBStudios will host a series of talks and workshops exploring the role of representation and drawing in architecture, as well documenting the process leading to the making of the works on show.

The exhibition is part of the London Design Festival 2018 and will run weekdays from 10 September - 26 October with the main evening event on Wednesday 19th September, featuring talks from the artists involved, each expressing their unique interpretation of the brief.
