J. Walter Thompson has two new CEOs in the Latin American region. Miguel Oscariz will assume the position in Mexico while Néstor Ferreyro steps up in Peru.
Both are already part of the J. Walter Thompson network. Miguel has been in charge of the Peruvian office since 2014 and Néstor, his replacement in Peru, is currently serving as Global Business Director for Avon for the J. Walter Thompson group.
Miguel comments: “Mexico is one of the most important markets in the region and being in charge of J. Walter Thompson will be a great professional challenge. Teamwork will be key to achieving the objectives set for this new stage.”
Néstor was born in Lima and, as such, this move serves as somewhat of a homecoming for him. “It feels like a natural step in my career and it is a wonderful challenge. Peru is a country in full growth and the agency is in a very good moment. My goal will be to take it to the next level in terms of business, creative results and digital integration.”
Miguel began his career at Kantar and later joined the marketing teams of Novartis and Danone Group. He was the Director of Customer Services at McCann Barcelona and held a management role at Euro RSCG Barcelona. In 2014 he moved to Peru to become President of the country’s J. Walter Thompson office. During his management, local operations grew more than 50% and digital revenues for the agency grew to 40%. The agency reached third place in the Effie Awards in Peru this year.
Néstor has more than 20 years of experience in ad agencies. He moved to Buenos Aires from Lima in 1989. His first agency experience was with D’Arcy (now Publicis), then joining VegaOlmosPonce as the Global Brand Director for Unilever. After nine years he joined La Comunidad as General Director of its Buenos Aires office for five years. In 2015 he was appointed by J. Walter Thompson as Global Business Director for Avon, one the network’s 20 most important clients.
