FilmFixer provide locations for Jed Mercurio's latest drama

Trigger Point is a new six-part thriller from Jed Mercurio (executive producer of Line of Duty and Bodyguard) focusing on the work of the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad during a summer bombing campaign that targets London.

FilmFixer locations across the capital got star-billing in a high-octane storyline that sees Line of Duty’s lead officer Vicky McClure transported to a very different police unit.  McClure and her co-star Adrian Lester play a close-knit pair of ‘Expo’s’ (experienced bomb disposal operatives), in the dangerous world of counter-terror operations in London.

Writer Daniel Brierley’s script takes us all around the capital, with the South side of Waterloo Bridge (Lambeth) being used for dusk shots of London and the Thames, as well as  low-key street filming. St Mary's Gardens provided the setting for a bomb threat at the campaign HQ of the Rainbow Alliance. (Louche Warehouse on Bishop's Terrace).

The Victoria pub on Grove Street in Deptford was the setting for a delivery van containing an explosive device parked outside. The Met’s S015 explosives team place safety road blocks in the adjacent roads around the pub and they send in a robot to disarm the device.

North London’s Priory Avenue (Haringey) and Caledonian Road (Islington) featured in residential shoots.  Also look out for Bonhill Street (Islington) in a scene where a car slowly passes The Fox pub before being hemmed in by a crowd of protestors, then picking up speed and heading onto Epworth Street. The imposing façade of Islington Assembly Hall also features as characters meet after leaving the police station and walking together.

Over in West London Lionel Road North (Hounslow) is the location for a dramatic scene where a young terrorist bomber arrives in his car which is rigged with explosives. He then heads down Popes Lane and drives into Gunnersbury Park onto the grass where he interrupts a football match, before the car explodes in a ball of flame. A team of forensics later examine the scene.

Russell Square, Finsbury Park and North Road (Islington) and NCP Saffron Hill in Farringdon and Amway Street (Camden) all served as unit bases for the production.
