In a candid session led by Ronald Urbach, chairman of law firm, Davis & Gilbert, Jackie Stevenson, founding partner and global managing director of creative agency The Brooklyn Brothers, and Patrick Hickey, CEO and founding partner of creative agency Rothco, sat down to discuss the power of remaining independent – or maintaining an independent state of mind.
With the industry caught in the midst of the merger era, the ability to remain autonomous and stand out amongst network competitors has always been a challenge. With Stevenson recently accepting investment to become part of the Golin (IPG) group , she presented an interesting parallel to fellow panellist Hickey, whose agency Rothco is continuing to grow independently, working with clients across the globe from their Dublin-base.
