iris has poached Dan Madden and Matt Eastwood from AIS. The award winning team swept the boards last year for their Harrison's Fund 'I wish my son had cancer' print campaign, winning Golds at Campaign BIG, The DMA and MAAs.
They said on joining: "We joined iris because it's a place that has a positive attitude of getting ideas made for the kind of brands that every creative wants in their book. Over the last year they've done some top creative work and we're looking to make this year even better. And when we saw their fridge full of free Pepsi, the decision was sealed."
Shaun McIlrath, global creative director at iris said of the appointment: "Dan and Matt are really talented multi-disciplinary thinkers with a brilliant attitude to problem solving. They'll fit right in."
They will work across the agency's accounts and will report into Deputy Creative Director Nina Taylor and Executive Creative Director Chris Baylis.
This week iris also appointed Ben Peate to the position of Deputy Creative Director on the agency's newest client, Samsung. Peate joins from Inferno where he was creative lead on Nokia & Sky.
Ben added: "I've always been attracted to independent agencies and iris is really the place to be at the moment. My background is telecoms, entertainment and tech, so the opportunity to work on one of the world's leading technology brands made the decision very easy. The creative that’s coming out of iris at the moment is world class, and I wanted to be part of that."
At the start of this year, iris appointed Chris Baylis from Tribal DDB as ECD for its London office, to lead the agency's 70-strong (and growing) creative team.
