IPG Accelerate Graduate Recruitment Programme Returns for Third Year

Participating agencies MRM, Octagon, MullenLowe Group and Jack Morton attract the best and brightest creative talents in Singapore

Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG) launches its annual graduate recruitment programme ‘IPG Accelerate’ in Singapore for the third year, hoping to attract the best creative talents in the country. First launched in 2018, the six month programme is designed to provide participants with opportunities to learn real world skills in real world situations and to maximise their exposure to the creative marketing industry. 

Inter-network rotation sees every participant spending two months working in the account servicing department of each of the three participating agencies – they are MRM, Octagon, MullenLowe Group and Jack Morton. They are given the opportunity to work on live briefs as well as structured training sessions across a wide variety of topics and fields. Each participant is also given a mentor who is purposefully selected and trained to provide strategic guidance. At the end of the six month programme, participants may be offered a full-time role. Last year 100% of participants were taken on board. 

Speaking about her experience as a participant in 2019’s IPG Accelerate, Jessica Lim account executive, MullenLowe Singapore, said: “The programme is not for the faint-hearted for sure. After every rotation, the rigour of having to reboot your mind to prepare for a new workplace, colleagues, and work processes was the most challenging part to me. However, as much as I have to relearn every two months, I am even more grateful that the agencies have put in so much effort to reteach and regroom each graduate after every rotation. Within the six months, I found myself three new families. I count myself very lucky to have grown my network in this industry during my time on the programme and for the opportunity to learn from experienced creative, planning and account directors.”

Commenting on the programme, a spokesperson on behalf of the four participating agencies said: “Making the transition from higher education to the workplace can be a challenge. What IPG Accelerate is designed to do is to provide talented graduates with real-life experience from the get-go while helping them to explore and choose an agency and career path in the industry which is best suited to their skills and ambition.” 

Interviews for the 2020 IPG Accelerate Programme will take place in May. The programme begins in June with inter-network rotation of graduates running from August to December.
