The IPA has welcomed yesterday's (13th February) appointment of Oliver Dowden as the new Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
Says Paul Bainsfair, director general, IPA: “We very much welcome the appointment of Oliver Dowden as the new Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. We hope we can look forward to a period of stability in the department and to working with the Secretary of State to assert and drive the value of the creative industries in a post-Brexit economy.
“We are also keen to share our agency stance on the complex online media space with him, particularly with regard to the microtargeting of political ads online. I will be writing to Mr Dowden in due course to arrange a meeting to discuss these matters, and more, in detail.”
