LBB is saddened to learn that Olly Chapman, UK managing director of the production company Furlined and esteemed producer with over 25 years in the industry, has died.
Colleagues and long-time industry friends have privately expressed their shock and sadness at the news.
Diane McArter (president of Furlined) and Ben Davies (vice president of Furlined) said: "Olly was one of those rare souls who made the world better simply by being present in it. We feel fortunate to have been part of his life, devastated and numbed by his loss. There are so many in the industry who respect and love Olly. Our thoughts are with all of you - and most especially with his three boys and their mother, who were the light and joy of Olly’s extraordinary life.”
Well-loved as a friendly personality in the advertising community on both agency and production sides, Olly took up the position at Furlined in 2017.
Prior to that, he had held the position of head of TV production at AMV BBDO, where he led the UK’s largest agency production department over the course of several successful years.
His experience before that saw him in production roles at agencies including BETC, BBH and Bates UK.
Furlined confirmed in a Facebook post
that "an industry memorial for Olly is being planned and will be shared soon".
