After 70 years, IKEA recently announced it would turn the page on its iconic catalogue to find new ways to inspire its customers through home furnishing solutions and life at home insights going forward.

The last version of the iconic IKEA catalogue has since been immortalised with a special final edition of the 2021 catalogue. Developed in Canada this summer, the hardcover version is designed with as much care and attention to detail as everything that’s in it: hardcovers to survive years of browsing, multiple ribbons to prevent dog-earing, soft-touch pages to help you imagine the textiles, and bigger, high-quality pages to make flipping through a dream. All conveniently delivered in a flatpack, IKEA’s famous cardboard packaging.

In fact, the thing that helped make IKEA homes more beautiful for over 70 years will now actually make its homes more beautiful forever.

IKEA Canada has been rewarding its most loyal fans with these hard copies of the catalogue by surprising and delighting them throughout the past several months. News of the catalogue discontinuation sent shockwaves through the internet, trending on news sites and Twitter, with IKEA fans and loyalists expressing their feelings and memories about the catalogue.


To commemorate such an iconic staple, IKEA Canada will be surprising and delighting those who were more distraught online by giving away a few remaining copies of the coffee table book, offering them a piece of history to hang onto.
