Iconic Skate Filmmaker Colin Read Joins UNIT9 for Worldwide Representation

Colin Read rose to prominence in the skateboard filmmaking world, gaining a cult following with a series of award-winning independent films.

After his breakthrough film “Spirit Quest” (2016), he branched out into the commercial and music video spaces, directing pieces for clients including Radiohead, Converse, and Viceland.

Using a blend of inventive in-camera effects and a pervasive desire to keep things fun, Colin always strives to make films that surprise.

“I'm extremely proud to join UNIT9!” Read said, “In their work you can feel a human touch--even the most technologically-advanced projects still have a hand-crafted feel to them. But more than that, everyone involved with the company is gracious and welcoming; I look forward to working with all of them.”

Commenting on Read’s signing, Creative Partner Michelle Craig said, “We love that Colin continues our spirit of in camera magic, his mix of handmade and highly crafted cultural films really excite us here at UNIT9”

Most recently, UNIT9 have also launched a new venture with Los Angeles-based production and management company, Nowhere, in a partnership aimed to support new voices and expand their long-form offerings.
