ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2020 Appoints CHE Proximity as Media Agency Partner
The ICC T20 World Cup 2020 has announced the appointment of CHE Proximity as its new media strategy and buying agency to help deliver services crucial to the success of T20 cricket’s global showpiece event.

The appointment of CHE Proximity to the ICC T20 World Cup’s growing list of world-class service providers reinforces the event’s commitment to delivering a spectacular celebration that leverages cutting-edge, best-in-class technology, data strategy and systems.

CHE Proximity won the account after a competitive pitch and joins a roster of other world-class service providers reinforcing the event’s commitment to delivering a spectacular celebration that leverages cutting-edge, best-in-class technology, data strategy and systems.

ICC T20 World Cup Australia 2020 Local Organising Committee CEO Nick Hockley announced the partnership at SportAccord, the world sport and business summit taking place on the Gold Coast from 5-10 May.

In 2020, Australia will host two ICC T20 World Cups, with the women’s and men’s tournaments to be played as standalone events across Australia. Both events will culminate in finals at the world’s largest cricket stadium, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, presenting an opportunity to set a new world record for the highest attendance at a women’s sporting fixture on Sunday 8 March 2020, which is International Women’s Day.

Says Nick: “We are delighted to be working with CHE Proximity and Rosterfy, with both organisations presenting really impressive and innovative services befitting a major global event.

“The discussion at SportAccord has focussed on how data and analytics can elevate the fan experience. ICC T20 World Cup 2020 is proud to be working with world class event cities, venues, partners and suppliers to ensure that both the women’s and men’s events are at the forefront of innovation in global sport and entertainment.

“I would like to thank and congratulate SportAccord and the Queensland Government for bringing leading people and organisations from the global sports and entertainment industry to Australia, in what has been a timely learning experience for the T20 World Cup as we prepare to welcome the world to Australia next year.”

Says Chris Howatson, CEO, CHE Proximity: “The standalone tournament structure of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 will have a profound influence on the progress of not only T20 and cricket, but gender equality in Australia and across the world. The Local Organising Committee represents the very best in their fields, and their ambition for this tournament to be a spectacular celebration to set the benchmark for all other global events is inspiring. It’s with exceptional pride that we are involved and can contribute to its success.”
