ADD TO COLLECTION

It’s no big secret that Cannes Lions has become something of a celeb magnet, so here’s our guide to a bit of shameless rubbernecking

I Spy: The Very Important Cannes Celeb-Spotting Guide
With A-list celebrities infiltrating the Cannes Lions speaker line up in recent years, there have been groans from some quarters about a dip in focus on creativity and advertising. But, and let’s be honest with ourselves here people, who doesn’t love a good celebrity spot? We certainly can't. From our vantage point in our London HQ, LBB-ers can get quite unashamedly excited at the most obscure, Z-list spot. And even though Kim and Kanye sadly probably won’t be hanging on any yachts this year, thanks to the Daily Mail’s decision to stay away from Cannes in 2017, the line up is still awash with big names from a heap of industries. So where to find ‘em? And who to look out for? Well, we’ve listed the time, date and locations of each of the below’s official seminars. But in reality your best shot of boosting your Insta-likes with a showbizzy selfie is at sea on an exclusive yacht jaunt, at the Colombe d’Or… or somewhere far, far away from the great unwashed (yes, adland, that would be you lot).

1. Sir Ian McKellen

Catch Gandalf himself on Wednesday 21st, 13:00 - 13:45, in the Lumiere Theatre. He’s also on the Facebook Beach later that day at 15:00 - 15:30. Let’s hope he lets you pass! Words cannot convey just how excited we are about accidentally bumping into Sir Ian and becoming the third best friend to him and Patrick Stewart. It's going to happen, right?

2. Ellie Goulding

Universal Music Group have a bunch of big names in Cannes, and one of them is Ellie Goulding. She’ll be speaking in the Havas Café with none other than Halle Berry on Wednesday 21st, 14:00 - 15:00. She’ll then be on The Terrace the same day, 16:00 - 16:45. (We’re hearing, on the DL that some of Universal’s stars might also make an appearance at the Deluxe yacht party).

3. Halle Berry

As mentioned above, Halle will be chatting with Ellie in the Havas Café. She’ll also be bringing a Storm to the Inspiration Stage on Tuesday 20th, 10:00 - 10:45.

This Perfect Gentleman will be on The Terrace on Thursday 22nd, 16:00 - 16:45. That is providing he’s not Gone ’Til November.
