Platige Image presents the trailer for the second season of Hyper Scape.
This animation is the second production set in the game universe of Ubisoft studio prepared by Platige Image.
The two-minute episode presents the events taking place during the beginning of the second season of the game - it tells of a serious failure in which the entire virtual world is shut down. The project was implemented during the Covid-19 epidemic.
The new episode is a progression of the game's plot. It develops the storylines of several characters, such as Javi, Nahari, or Amandine, and presents new parts of the world: maps, weapons, characters, and even skins that will appear in the second season.
“Our goal was to develop an original style which would combine smooth 3D animation, stylized models, spaces, and special effects with what is offered by the game itself. We focused on creating something unique and at the same time consistent with the clients product,” commented Mateusz Mizak, art director at Platige Image studio.
“We had wanted to create a highly stylized project for a long time, and we managed to convince the client that this film series can have exactly such a form. We strive to make each subsequent episode more and more refined, and our style - unique,” added Bartek Kik, animation director at Platige Image.
Platige Image also used mocap in the animation process, the effects of which were strongly evolved and styled. One of the biggest challenges related to this project was to implement the ideas generated in the planning process so that the final result was consistent and aesthetic, and also feasible within the established time frames.
“Everything can be drawn, however, recreating it in animation sometimes gives sleepless nights. Since we wanted a unique styling, we could not afford standard solutions. We succeeded thanks to the great work of a creative and well-coordinated team,” summarised Bartek Kmita, CG supervisor at Platige Image.
“It was four months of strenuous and intense activities for the entire team. I am grateful to each and every one of you for your help and commitment to this project. The final effect shows that it was worth it,” added Hanna Drewek, CG Producer at Platige Image.
The trailer published in October is the second animation set in the Hyper Scape universe prepared by Platige. The premieres of the next episodes of the series, created in the studio, are planned in the near future.
