Hungry Man Productions Signs Kantú Lentz

Hungry Man Productions has announced Kantú Lentz has joined its directing roster.

Kantú, a Peruvian-German filmmaker based in Los Angeles, established herself as a director working with global brands such as New Balance, LG Electronics, Verizon, Ulta Beauty, and Tumi. Recently she also had the opportunity to devote considerable time traveling the  country directing over 40 political ads for 'One Vote at a Time', an organisation that creates in-kind campaign videos for Democrats who support gun safety legislation.

Kantú is also well known for her compelling narrative work. She recently directed the short film 'Jack and Jo Don't Want to Die' commissioned by the Shatterbox Anthology Series starring Justin Kirk (Weeds/Angels in America) and Olivia Edward (Better Things) which  premiered at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival. She was part of the AFI Directing Workshop for Women at which she directed the short ‘Up Here’ which takes place in a world where people float when they fall in love. Her short film ‘Moses Storm’s Perfect Journey’ commissioned by Tumi, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.

In 2019 Kantú’s film 'Coche Bomba' was one of five projects selected by the Tribeca/Chanel 'Through Her Lens' fellowship. She was also a part of Sony’s Diverse Directors Program and the Viacom Viewfinder Emerging Directors Program.

In 2020 Kantú was selected to be a part of Paul Feig’s Female Director Incubator Powderkeg: Fuse, for which she wrote and is directing a short comedic film executive produced by Paul. Lentz is also one of seven Directors selected for the NBC Female Forward program where  she will direct an episode of Dick Wolf's 'Chicago Fire.'
