Full-service design/advertising agency Human Design has filled two key positions, co-founder and CEO Matt Null announced today. Scott Bain has joined as strategy director and Daniel Clarke was hired as managing director of the new LA office.
“Hiring Dan and Scott is a critical step in the evolution of our agency. Strategy is the key ingredient for all of our campaigns, and we have found two excellent strategists in them,” said Null.
Bain brings Human Design two decades of creative leadership experience and business acumen across a wide array of channels. He works closely with clients to understand their brand and strategy goals, then devises a means to achieve their purpose. He combines his infectious energy and passion for creating customer/brand experiences with his design sense to bring them to life. Bain joined the agency in May and concentrates on the Twitter and Google accounts.
Bain’s experience as a creative director, brand storyteller and strategist has garnered several awards including national recognition in HOW magazine, Gold and Final Fifteen® ADDYs and a Colorado AMA. Bain also sits on the Wellspring Community Board of Directors representing branding and communications. He comes to Human Design from Terumo BCT, where he spent eight years as a brand manager and a creative services manager.
Clarke, who joined the company in April, will focus on Los Angeles-based clients as well as new business development.
He is the founder of Escape the Zoo, a wildlife media company. On his podcast, he interviews leading wildlife photographers, conservationists and scientists. His upcoming documentary, FERAL, addresses the environmental and ethical issues that have proliferated along with the hundreds of thousands of homeless, feral cats living on the Hawaiian Islands. It is produced by Human Design, narrated by Ian Harding, and slated for a 2019 release.
Clarke also co-founded Fresh Truck, an award-winning nonprofit that converts school buses into mobile grocery stores. Fresh Truck has been nationally recognized as a model to increase food access and affordability in underserved communities. Clarke has spoken about grassroots social innovation at TEDxBoston and is also an advisor to Clean Green Music Machine, a nonprofit that uses music to teach kids about climate change.
“Having Scott and Daniel join our team at Human Design provides really strong additional creative, strategy and process that will help us continue to provide exceptional work and scale," added John Weiss, Human Design co-founder and chief creative officer.
