Huge Midwest Appoints Brian Matakis as GVP, Client Services

Huge, a global experience agency, today announced it has hired Brian Matakis as GVP, client services. Effective immediately, Brian will report directly into Huge Midwest president Ranae Heuer, where he will be tasked with oversight of the agency’s key accounts as well as its Midwest region-based client services comprised of Huge Chicago and Huge Detroit.

“Brian is a fantastic addition to the Huge team as we continue to expand our product and marketing offering as a result of our growing client needs,” said Ranae. “We welcome his expertise in retail, e-commerce and innovation for some of the world’s most iconic brands. Brian joins Huge from VICIS Inc. in Seattle, a start-up in sports head protection technology and headgear, where he served as vice president of marketing and a member of the company’s executive team. At VICIS, Brian helped disrupt the decades-long status quo in football helmet innovation, growing brand awareness and driving adoption among parents, coaches and players at all levels of the game. TIME Magazine recognised the VICIS ZERO1 YOUTH football helmet as a Top Invention for 2019.

Prior to VICIS, Brian was managing director, client services at R/GA Portland where he spent nearly three years overseeing the client services team, working with key clients including Nike, Amazon, Starbucks, Canada Goose, and Banana Republic. During this time, Matakis led the Nike account’s retail, e-commerce and innovation efforts, as well as commerce and activation engagements spanning experience strategy and product and service innovation.
