Huawei Thailand Goes Analog with ‘Souvenir’ Short Film Series
Huawei partnered with J. Walter Thompson Bangkok and award-winning director Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit to promote the launch of its new Huawei Mate 20 Series, with Leica triple camera and AI cinematography technology. The director went on a trip to Japan capturing moments with his phone, only to mail them back as souvenirs to his mates in Thailand. The post arrived on the day of the launch.

With the short film series, the director reimagines what a "souvenir" can be in a world of rapid-fire technology – not inanimate objects, but meaningful moments – and rescues the almost forgotten feeling of receiving an analog personal delivery.

“I drew inspiration from the souvenirs that travelers buy for their loved ones, the usual sweets, toys and small memorabilia. I personally think the most precious souvenir is a moment in time. So I did just that. Shooting this short film series with a Huawei Mate 20 took me to a new chapter in filmmaking, where I could challenge the limitations of professional cameras, capturing more spontaneous moments and editing my videos right away with the AI video editor,” says Nawapol.
