How Photo App EyeEm is Crowdsourcing Campaign Photos for Big Brands

In 2013, Photography application EyeEm was listed by Forbes as one of the Hottest Global Startups, and secured $6m funding in a round led by Earlybird Venture Capital in the same year.

One of the company’s standout features is ‘Missions’, where the EyeEm community are invited to submit their own images around a particular topic or subject matter. Missions are typically run in conjunction with brand partners, who get original, crowdsourced, high quality images for their campaigns. Winning photographers are rewarded with a range of different prize types, anything from digital SLR cameras to high quality prints.

Since their introduction last year, the response has been near overwhelming, with over 370k photos submitted to date, from over 220k individual contributors.

Leading Missions examples include Mercedes Benz, Uber, Getty Images & The Huffington Post.
