Homespun Yarns 2018 'IF' Competition Announces Final Call For Entries

With two weeks until the deadline, Homespun announces the final call to enter Homespun Yarns 2018.

The title of the brief for this fifth competition is IF, the infinitive, the ultimate, IF makes anything possible and entrants are invited to submit a short film idea that begins ‘IF’.

Once the Homespun team has collectively judged all the entries, three winning ideas will be shortlisted.  Homespun will give £1,500 funding for each film, provide editing as well as the expertise and knowledge of their generous supporters.

Homespun Yarns has partnered with more companies than ever before, who will offer their services to help create the best films possible. 

Leo King, Stitch Co-owner and editor comments on how the initiative has developed:  ‘the idea this year is to educate young filmmakers through our associations and supporters.  We are incredibly lucky to be working with Wave Studios, Panavision, Kodak, Freefolk and Cheat again, who will all be involved from the pre-production stages to advise our directors and guide them through their areas of excellence. 

We have Performance Insurance involved for the first time, they will be on hand in relation to the film insurance process.  We want everyone involved to establish contacts they can build relationships with for the future.”

The awards night will take place in October when the final three films will be screened and judged by the audience.  As wells the kudos of winning, the overall winning film will receive a £500 cash prize and an unrivalled kick-start to their filmmaking career.

Entrants have until 11:59pm on 27th April 2018 to submit their idea, in the form of a script, storyboard or treatment.
