Sheryl Thomson, creative director at Union Direct in Scotland, looks back at an eclectic bundle of work from across WPI's independent agencies
There are two things that really make me tick. Innovative ways to drive action, and simple yet powerful art direction. Big high fives to the super strong selection of campaigns from the independent agencies of Worldwide Partners that do just that...
The Ukrainian Freedom Fund - 'The Warregular Campaign'
Agency: Provid x HCB Health
The pared-back art direction on this campaign really helps leave space for the copy to pack a serious punch. The normality of the headline lulls you into a false sense of security until you read the copy in the red box. Proof you don’t need imagery to get people to picture the scene. Very powerful.
Zee5 Premium - 'Rashmi Rocket'
Agency: Blink Digital
I felt naive that I didn’t know that this happened before seeing this campaign. So much so that I then went down a rabbit hole to find out more about it - so you could say that the campaign definitely drives action! A great way to raise awareness and tackle a big issue.
Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) - '#UnMurPourElles' / '#AWallForWomen'
Agency: Rosbeef! United
Production: In-house at LFP
It’s not easy in a crowded market to get people to take notice, never mind take action - especially when it comes to a serious message. But the simple invitation to take a stand by joining #awallforwomen is both clever and effective.
Beats by Dre - 'Powerbeats Pro: Unleashed'
Agency: Zambezi
Production: Doomsday
Director: Hiro Murai
Editorial: Parallax
Colour: MPC
Loving the art direction here. Your eye never loses focus on the product, yet it doesn’t feel forced. In fact it only heightens the focus and dedication of the individuals wearing them. Beautiful.
RESPONSA - 'Second Chance'
Agency: Propeg
Production: SANTERIA
Post: Web Film
Sound: CABARET
What a beautifully shot film. It’s rare these days to be able to keep people's attention for longer than a minute, but this had me hooked. The sound composition really draws you in, helping you to get a true understanding of where Randolfo is in his life and how that could so easily lead to a relapse. The twist along with the campaign line is really powerful.
