Tim Gordon, CCO and partner at Zulu Alpha Kilo NY, delves into his love for one of the world's favourite foods with five drool-worthy campaigns

I’ve always been impressed with the depth and insight that contributors bring to High Five. Every time I peruse the lists, I leave more in tune with culture and more inspired. This time, dear reader, may not be the case. Though you will leave hungrier. Join me as I delve into five pizza-related projects that I find delicious...

Domino’s - 'Pizza Tracker'

Agency: CP+B

Combining my love of tracking packages and pizza, the Domino’s 'Pizza Tracker' from CP+B is both brilliant tech and wonderful creative. It’s hard to point to tech innovations in our industry that have lasting power - unless you count all those NFT ideas we had.

Pizza Hut - 'Pie Tops'

Agency: Droga5 NY

Decidedly less technical than the 'Pizza Tracker', but equally ambitious, 'Pie Tops' from Droga5 NY allowed lucky owners to order pizza directly from their shoe to their exact location. 'Pie Tops' set the standard in shoe-based pizza technology that I’m not sure we’ll ever see again...

Little Caesars - 'No Rules'

Agency: BFG

I strive to be able to write / create / dream anything this funny, let alone do it all in 15 seconds. Imagine if case studies were only 15 seconds. Just imagine that kind of beauty in the world.

Pizza Pizza - 'Fixed-Rate Pizza'

Agency: Zulu Alpha Kilo

Obviously biased, but this idea is pitch-perfect for timing and spot-on for the brand. When inflation is on the rise and families are legitimately feeling the pinch, it’s great to see a company act in this manner, especially when it's delicious.

Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop - 'Paulie’s Pizza Box'

Granted, a pizza box is not exactly what comes to mind when you think of this list, but the box from my local slice shop is perfect. For those who know, Paulie Gee’s is one of the best pizza joints in NYC. So when it came to opening their slice shop, they leaned into nostalgia and pizza culture in all the right ways. The box is an obvious nod to the slice scene, but the addition of Paulie’s signature thick-rimmed glasses makes it perfect and ownable. Sometimes the best ideas are simple, and the simple ideas are best.
