Here Be Dragons, the creative PR & communications agency, has appointed Dominic Radcliffe as creative director, following a period of growth for the agency. Dominic was previously Creative at the agency , having previously founded his own creative studio, Rufus, which counted Island Records, Spotify, Richter-Mahr Studio and 23&Me as clients.

The new role comes after a spate of new business wins for the agency in 2023 which were creatively led by Radcliffe and Head of New Business April Hogan, including Brazilian alternative meat brand Future Farm, personal development platform Mindvalley, power tool provider Ryobi and British manufacturer of Hollywood lenses, Cooke Optics. All clients were won as part of a competitive pitch process and Here Be Dragons is retained as the agency of record. The agency has also picked up briefs from food waste brand Oddbox and online card delivery service Moonpig.

2022 marked a year of large growth for Here Be Dragons, with an 80% hit rate across new business pitches, and 2023 is an equally important year for the agency as it looks to diversify the range of clients it works on and expand the internal team across a range of specialisms. Work across the new clients will generally include major creative campaigns, press office and influencer relations.

Dominic’s role will be to head up the creative department at Here Be Dragons, bringing more of a holistic creative focus and fostering creative talent. He noted, “Here Be Dragons is a creative force which I have been lucky enough to be a part of. I'm very much looking forward to building on its previous creative success by focusing on nurturing new talent, doubling down on culture and creating a diverse, thoughtful, energised team of creative minds”

Account Specific

Future Farm has employed the agency to focus on growing brand awareness in the UK and help the company further its mission to ‘change the way the world eats’. Future Farm and Here Be Dragon kicked off their partnership last month with a Veganuary stunt that saw Future Farm hi-jack the release of Prince Harry's memoir, by driving a truck past Buckingham Palace emblazoned with the message - "Drop the beef. Not your bro."

Mindvalley is a personal development platform, founded by entrepreneur and author Vishen Lakhiani, that helps people step into their greatness. Already a multi million dollar success story in the US, Mindvalley is officially entering the UK market in 2023 and will work with Here Be Dragons to cement its place in the UK’s personal development industry through strategic storytelling, experiential, creative campaigns and influencer relations.

Here Be Dragons is working with Oddbox, the community-powered weekly rescue mission to save delicious, fresh fruit and vegetables from going to waste, on a creative campaign basis. The first campaign launched in February and highlights the scale of the food waste issue through brave creative that will make people stop and take note.

Ryobi is one of the world's largest and most innovative DIY power and garden tool manufacturers, and specialises in making great tools truly affordable. The agency will be powering up Ryobi's PR and working across its product press office, reviews programme and influencer relations.

Cooke Optics is a British engineering and technology company who are the lens of choice for Hollywood Directors of Photography. Founded in 1893, Cooke Lenses have been used in some of the most celebrated films and TV series of modern times, including Peaky Blinders, Apocalypse Now, Godfather II and Blade Runner. The accounts will be headed up by April Hogan and Matt Crowhurst respectively.
