Heckler Ramps up Feature Expertise with Ryan Trippensee Appointment
Following increased demand to manage feature and long-form work, design, animation and visual effects house Heckler is ramping up its team, appointing highly experienced compositor and supervisor Ryan ‘Trip’ Trippensee as 2D/VFX supervisor.
Ryan has worked on a string of Hollywood blockbusters including Skyscraper, Spider-man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Lion and Thor. He has held supervisor and senior compositor roles at Method Studios, Animal Logic, Iloura, Luma Pictures, Digital Domain, Sony Pictures Imageworks.
Heckler is expanding its long-form and VFX capabilities following the success of its first feature length documentary ‘Brabham’, about the life of Australia F1 legend Sir Jack Brabham, which it co-produced with Aurora Films.
Says Jamie Watson, co-founder at Heckler and head of VFX: “We are increasingly being approached to take on more feature work and are investing so we can develop our long-form pipeline outside of advertising and other current projects. Trip is one of the most respected and trusted 2D/VFX supervisors in the business and we’re delighted he has joined the team as we continue to grow our footprint in the feature space.”
For the past ten years Ryan has worked on more than 30 feature films including Bright, Captain America, X-Men and Iron Man.
The Sydney-headquartered production house, which recently opened up a studio in Singapore, has also signed onto the Netflix international originals post-production roster.
Says Ryan: “I’ve always believed great VFX work doesn’t have to come with personal sacrifice and the opportunity to prove that with Heckler was too good to pass up. I’m looking forward to working with Jamie and the rest of the team to put Heckler on the features map.”
