Havas Worldwide announced today the appointment of award-winning duo Gian Carlo Lanfranco and Rolando Cordova as Creative Directors in the New York office. Lanfranco and Cordova, renowned for their creative prowess and global success, will join the leading integrated communications network’s agency headquarters.
“Gian Carlo and Rolando are perfect examples of the passion and curiosity we’re hiring for at Havas Worldwide. They’ve been traveling the globe, seeking out new creative experiences at some of the world’s best agencies on the world’s most famous brands,” said Darren Moran, Chief Creative Officer of Havas Worldwide New York and co-CCO, Havas Worldwide North America. “The fact that they’ve chosen to join Havas for their first US gig is exciting. I know they’ll be picking up a lot more awards as they put their talents to work for our roster of world-class clients.”
Lanfranco and Cordova join Havas Worldwide from French agency Fred & Farid Group, where they led the Orangina global account. Prior to Fred & Farid, Lanfranco and Cordova led the global MINI business at BSUR Amsterdam, and handled the widely hailed global launch of the MINI Countryman and the MINI Coupe.
“Joining Havas Worldwide represents a huge creative opportunity for us to work with a renowned global agency and, in particular, with the very strong roster of clients based out of the New York office,” Lanfranco said. “Tackling the US market will be a new challenge for us, and it’s one we’re very excited to take on.”
The team began their careers at Saatchi & Saatchi Peru, where they were awarded the first-ever Future Lions in Cannes. They then spent two years at Saatchi & Saatchi’s Singapore office, working across the Asian markets, before heading to the Netherlands, where they created global digital work for Coca-Cola at Wieden+Kennedy Amsterdam.
The appointment at Havas Worldwide New York marks the team’s first foray into a US agency. Originally from Lima, Peru, the pair has spent the last decade living around the globe.
Lanfranco and Cordova have been awarded at all major advertising festivals, including Cannes Lions, The One Show, the Clio Awards, Art Directors Club, London International Awards, Eurobest, Epica Awards, Young Guns Awards, Mobius Awards, New York Festivals, FIAP, El Ojo de Iberoamerica, Future Lions and the Singapore Effie Awards. While in Amsterdam, the pair used their spare time to teach at the Miami Ad School and mentor up-and-coming talent.
