Havas Group Media Appoints Wavemaker’s Ailsa Buckley as Deputy Managing Director

Havas Group Media has announced the appointment of Ailsa Buckley to the newly-created role of deputy managing director as it seeks to further strengthen its leadership team.

Buckley joins from Wavemaker, where she was general manager, leading the agency’s L’Oreal business with a focus on digital transformation, and heading up a number of key internal initiatives. She has 16 years’ experience in client-facing roles in agencies including MEC and Maxus.

In this new role, Buckley is tasked with delivering best-in-class client solutions, strengthening client relationships and leading multi-disciplinary teams. She will also have specific responsibility for Havas Group Media’s Hyundai and AXA accounts.

Buckley will report to Stephanie Marks, managing director at Havas Group Media.

The appointment is the latest in a series of senior hires for the group, with other recent appointments including Carat’s John-Paul Cadman as chief planning officer, and Starcom’s Marek Wrobel as head of media futures.

Stephanie Marks, managing director, Havas Group Media, said: “Ailsa’s appointment is further proof of our ongoing commitment to excellent client service. Her experience on brands like L’Oreal, Fiat and Johnson & Johnson, and her digital and comms planning expertise, make her a real asset to Havas Group Media.”

Ailsa Buckley, deputy managing director, Havas Group Media, said: “I was attracted to Havas Group Media after seeing the amazing talent heading there over the past year, and the leadership’s passion and desire to drive change. I’m thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time and I can’t wait to get involved in building the agency’s culture and client relationships.”
