EcoHydra, the British hand hygiene brand, has appointed creative agency BMB to devise its first consumer facing advertising campaign. The appointment was made without a pitch, and no previous incumbent agency.

BMB has a wide-ranging brief that includes developing the EcoHydra brand and raising awareness and purchase intent among consumers. The initial focus for BMB is to build awareness of its highly effective, alcohol-free EcoHydra hand sanitiser in the UK.

The Covid pandemic has highlighted the importance of hygiene and transformed the market for hand sanitisers but EcoHydra believes it will continue to evolve. Much as consumers have preferred brands of soap and toothpaste, they are starting to differentiate between hand sanitisers and look for those that are more pleasant to use.

Clifton Melvin, Chairman at EcoHydra, said: “Since our initial meeting with BMB, they have shown enthusiasm and an unwavering desire to build the awareness around our brand. We recognise now is the time for us to accelerate our growth plans for our EcoHydra hand sanitiser in the UK.”

Jason Cobbold, CEO at BMB, said: “In the early days of the pandemic any hand sanitiser consumers could find, was good hand sanitiser. Now it’s become a regular purchase we’re realising that not all products are created equally. EcoHydra difference is being alcohol-free, and with robustly effective results, it’s the best on the market and we’re total converts. We’re thrilled to be working with them.”

EcoHydra specialises in hand hygiene products for the B2B market, and the brand aims to deliver superior formulations that are effective but gentle. All its products are alcohol free, meaning they can be used throughout the day with no damaging effects to the skin’s integrity or pH levels. They also work better than alcohol-based hand sanitisers, remaining effective for over four hours after application, while alcohol hand sanitisers stop working immediately after application.
