As the UK eases out of lockdown, Halfords launches new multi-channel campaign to reassure customers of its services
Halfords has kept Britain moving throughout the pandemic, supporting key workers with free vehicle checks. Since late March, Halfords has performed 5,000 free car checks for NHS staff and emergency workers. Some essential stores and Autocentres remained open throughout the pandemic and 335 stores and 365 auto-centres are now open to help everyone start to get ready for their journeys, big and small, and help them get where they want to be.

Launching today, the eight week campaign will run across radio, social media, YouTube, digital and POS with activity being underpinned by messaging that Halfords understands that customers have places they both want and need to be, the Halfords team is here to help. After cars have been sat on driveways and in garages for months, the campaign aims to reassure customers that the team is there to help – from MOTs, battery replacements, brake checks and tyre changes.

The radio campaign starts on Monday 8th June with a sponsorship of the Heart FM mid-morning show, followed by airtime across the Global Radio network and DAX from Monday 15th June for four weeks. The campaign was created by Karmarama, with media buying by Carat, ZPR will support with a consumer PR campaign.

Halfords group marketing director, Lisa Bond, said: “This campaign captures the sense that there is no job too big or too small for our team, and we know how important these journeys are, allowing our customers to finally meet their friends and family, or get back to work. Whether we’re serving customers from our stores, garages or mobile vans, we understand that by ensuring cars are safe and road ready, we’re not just fixing break lights or car batteries, we’re enabling journeys that can create memories.”
