Now, more than ever, people are valuing and caring for their local communities. To celebrate this, Gumtree, the buying and selling community, and creative agency Fold7 have created an ad that thanks every neighbour for staying indoors, for checking in on one another, and for displaying hope by putting up rainbows.
Produced in just two weeks, the TVC shows a montage of ordinary front doors across Britain, simply snapped using an army of phone cameras to build up a picture of neighbourhoods across the UK. A spoken word poem thanks everyone behind them for all the small gestures which mean so much to the local community.
'Thanks' was directed by rising talent Charlotte Regan through Knucklehead and broke on ITV1 during Coronation Street on Monday 20th April.
Lynsey Love, senior brand manager Gumtree UK said: “Gumtree is founded on the idea of bringing the neighbourhood together so we wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate this moment of community togetherness – those heartwarming acts of kindness that mean so much right now - while reminding people to stay home so we can all stay safe.”
Ryan Newey, CCO Fold7 added: “The UK has shown great spirit during lockdown, we hope this advert helps to boost it and maintain the pride we have in each other.”
