Grey London Senior Creative Sam Haynes has written his first children’s book, featuring a hybrid magical animal called The Badgicorn.

The story is about a half-badger half-unicorn who finds himself the butt of jokes from other animals within the Enchanted Glade.  Being a mixture of 2 animals, our hero struggles to understand what he’s truly capable of.

Throughout the story he’s tricked and teased by the glamorous but very cruel unicorns.  However, in the end our Badigcorn hero summons his magical powers and proves to himself - and the whole forest – that he’s capable of greatness. 



Written as poem, The Badigcorn is an underdog story with a positive message never to underestimate your own ability, or be ashamed of being different.

The story is beautifully illustrated by Sam Dunn, an illustrator who met Sam while working together at Grey London, but is now represented by Blink Art. 

Speaking about what inspired him to write the story, Sam said: “Too often children feel like they’ve got to fit in. They’re scared to be different. In advertising we celebrate the misfits and weirdos, so I wanted to teach my twin daughters, and all children, that being weird is just another kind of magic.  It’s silly, daft and will hopefully bring a smile to both adults and children.”
