Spotify launched in December 2021 its annual 'Wrapped' campaign, a retrospective that reveals to users the artists, albums, tracks and podcasts they've enjoyed most. This year, the platform chose to put a particular focus on two strong French artists to target its market as best as it could and fight the fierce music streaming platform competition : JUL, most listened-to artist of 2021, who illustrates the undeniable rise of Marseilles-based rap and Angèle, who is now recognised internationally thanks to her successful collaboration with Dua Lipa for Fever.
Director Greg Ohrel infused some youth and coolness to the two films, perfectly illustrating what life (and lockdown) felt like for French youth the past year.
