Great Guns Social Presents #CookForSyria with Chef John Gregory-Smith
Great Guns Social presents Chef and bestselling author, John Gregory-Smith, who will be finishing his weeklong residency with an epic #CookForSyria charity brunch in aid of UNICEF on Sunday 19th November.

You will have the chance to sit back and enjoy John’s spicy merguez eggs, cooked in a rich tomato sauce with cumin, paprika and harissa, and feast on fluffy beghiri pancakes, served with traditional Moroccan peanut butter, amlou, made with Arganic argan oil - and Fortnum and Mason jam, all for only £12.50 per person.

If you’re still feeling it from the night before, they will have a bloody Mary (£6.50) to help restore you to your former self. And if you fancy something sweet, their dessert bar will be fully stocked with a selection of sweat treats from Eric Lanlard, Lily Vanilli, Ottolenghi, Fatties Bakery, Outside Tart, Honey & Co., Butterscotch Bakery, Doughnut Time, The Hummingbird Bakery and John’s delicious Pomegranate and Chocolate Cake.

The spectacular brunch will be served over two sittings – 10:00am-12:00pm and 12:30pm-14:30pm - with a Moroccan menu from John’s bestselling book, Orange Blossom & Honey.

Great Guns are passionate about working with UNICEF Syria Children and want to raise as much cash as they can on the day. John has asked some of his mates to come down and help out. In the kitchen, Great Guns Social Chef Maria Elia will be working the pass alongside John and watch out for John Whaite, Frances Quinn and Jordan Bourke manning the bar, and serving up those badass Bloody Mary’s.

During both brunches they will be holding a raffle, with a bundle of prizes to win at each sitting. One winner picked before the end of each brunch. The prizes include a selection of cookbooks by John, Jose Pizarro, Sabrina Ghayour, Olia Hercules, Claridges, Maria Elia and Diana Henry, as well as Tonkotsu Ramen vouchers, Eat The Bits chilli oil, Russian Standard Vodka and Fortnum and Mason goodies. Ticket cost £10.

John Gregory-Smith, comments: “I am really pleased to be able to do another brunch for Unicef Syria Children. I am thrilled to announce that I’m working my mate @ClerkenwellBoy and his #CookForSyria campaign. It’s going to be great fun and all for an incredible course. So get down, have a blast and help us raise some much needed cash.”
