Today, Great Guns announces the signing of director Cassanda Brooksbank to its roster. Bolstering the film production company’s impressive list of directors, Cassandra is now represented globally by Great Guns.
Hailing from Nevada, Cassandra grew up in the glitz of the world’s entertainment capital, Las Vegas, which helped her to carve out the iconic visual style of her work that she coined ‘extravagant pop’.
A writer and director, Cassandra started out her career working commercially with globally recognised brands such as Porsche, Sony, Microsoft and Chevrolet. She has also written several feature films, a television pilot and has directed multiple music videos, such as Todrick Hall’s music video feature film Fobidden featuring RuPaul.
Her work has seen her receive a body of honours including a being two time winner at the HRTV Film Festival, first place winner at My Hero Film Festival, a Platinum Ava Award Winner, a Gold Marcom Award Winner and a Telly Award Winner.
Whilst studying BFA, Film Production at USC School of Cinematic Arts, Cassandra’s passion for film and pro-active spirit saw her appointed as general manager at USC’s student TV station, Trojan Vision. Whilst working at the station, heralded by Spin Magazine as Best College Television Station in America, Cassandra made films that continue to be screened to all incoming students which feature industry notables including Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Robert Zemeckis.
Currently based on Los Angeles, Cassandra spends what free time she has racing bikes, painting pop art and playing jazz piano.
Commenting on the signing, Great Guns’ Founder and CEO Laura Gregory says: “Not only is Cassandra an incredible director and editor, she was born in Las Vegas, wears the coolest boots and races bikes! Seriously, what more do you need to know?”
Cassanda comments: “Since I started working in the industry, Great Guns has always been one of my favourite production companies. They have an edge and a genuineness in their work that's hard to come by in a company of their size and calibre. They represent a lot of my favourite directors and it's pretty surreal that I'm now signing with them myself. As far as representation goes, I didn't want to sign with just anyone. I looked for a home that shared my style and vision as a director. Great Guns is the first company who really ‘got it’. There's something special about this group of people and I'm so honoured to be included in the family. The culture of the company is very in line with my values as an artist and I can't wait to get cracking. Bring on the caffeine!”
