Parker and Walker will be joined at Harbour by a raft of new signings as significant new business wins this year have seen them more than double in size

Grant Parker and Kim Walker are joining Harbour as partners as the company gears up for a major programme of expansion, making six partners in all.

Paul Hammersley, Harbour’s managing partner said: “Harbour is structured to make sure that our clients have world class senior partners who are actively engaged, day to day on their business. As we have grown it has always been the intention to expand our partner base.”

Harbour is a strategic and creative consultancy at the heart of a collective of independent communications agencies that was set up by Hammersley, Mick Mahoney and Kev Chesters in 2019 to offer a uniquely flexible approach to client needs.

ML Robinson, Harbour’s client partner added: “It’s incredible to think how little the industry has fundamentally changed in the last 15 years, despite the demands for it to do so. Our approach is bringing about radical change that makes for better outcomes for clients and us. Our growing client list is testament to this. It’s clearly a point of view that is resonating with smart and progressive people. Grant and Kim are Harbour through and through.”

Kim Walker joins as strategy partner alongside Kev Chesters. Walker joins from Brooklyn Brothers where she was joint head of strategy for six years. Her two previous roles to that were as a senior strategist at Bacardi and Mars.

Walker said of her appointment: “I am giddy excited to be joining the team at Harbour. Clever, funny, creative, kind people who want to make brilliant work in a whole new way. The Harbour Collective is shaking up a creative industry that really does need a good shake.  This massively appeals to me.  I grew up outside the industry - in insight and client-side roles - so I’ve never been indoctrinated into the old-fashioned ways of doing things. I’m so glad I came into the industry via one agency that thinks differently and now get to shape and lead the future of another one.”

Grant Parker joins as creative partner alongside Mick Mahoney. Parker joined Harbour as a creative director from Engine last year and has already been involved across a number of accounts. Previous to Engine, Parker was head of art and creative director at both M&C Saatchi and DDB.

Parker commented: “How lucky I’ve been to have worked at some great agencies over the years. What the deeply talented people at the great agencies taught me, was that significant and noticeable work requires the craft of many. Many brilliant specialist talents working together.  All the best parts that I’ve loved over the years have magically come together in Harbour Collective. Happily, here there is no waffle, no posturing, no turf wars, no politics. Just a handful of kindred souls who like each other and have a damn good laugh while doing some damn good work. How lucky I am.”
