Only two months after its launch, the website Graffiti General has been visited by over 80,000 internet surfers who have experienced the real-time interactive 3D tour of the 20,000 m2 of the Magasins Généraux customs building in Pantin, on the outskirts of Paris.
Developed by the advertising agency BETC, with the aim of preserving and sharing with the public the thousands of original works in this graffiti temple, the innovative Graffiti General website is also becoming a new vector for digital communication: visitors from all over the world have explored the site’s different technological opportunities, inventing new uses every day: over 50,000 digital graffitis, signatures, artworks, requests for internships and expressions of appreciation have already been left on the site and they continue to pour in every day.
Thanks to genuine technological innovations, the GRAFFITI GENERAL website has been awarded the coveted Google Chrome Experiment label that identifies and tests the latest open-course technologies such as HTML5, WebGL and Canvas. BETC, via its subsidiary BETC Digital that designed and produced the site, is the second French agency to receive this label. The site has also been awarded the 'FWA Cutting Edge Site of the Week', for the most innovative digital applications.
Watch this space: GRAFFITI GENERAL is an ongoing adventure and the website will continue to evolve in the coming months...
