For the past four-plus years, musicians have been denying Trump the rights to their music. From Pharrell Williams to Aerosmith, R.E.M. to George Harrison’s estate, Panic! At The Disco to Phil Collins, the list goes on and on.
TAXI advertising agency has created a Spotify playlist made to get people to the voting booths, made entirely of songs that Donald Trump was refused the usage rights to. What better way to vote than to the tune of songs Trump can’t play?
Grab Him By The Playlist is two hours and ten minutes long, the predicted average wait time to vote. With voting lines anticipated to be longer than ever, this playlist helps keep people motivated and hyped up to wait on line and go vote.
According to Alexis Bronstorph, TAXI co-CCO, coming up with a concept that got voters hyped to line up was an exciting challenge for the agency: “Our aim was to find a fun and provocative way to get voters to the polls and offset some of the waiting fatigue of the long lines.”
Grab Him By The Playlist launched organically on Spotify on 28th October and will be available through 3rd November for your musical voting needs.
