George Patterson Y&R Melbourne has emerged as the strongest Australian contender at the international Webby Awards, with 6 nominations.
The Webbys, recognised by the New York Times as the “Internet’s Highest Honour”, recognises excellence on the Internet across a number of categories including Websites, Social, Mobile and Apps.
This year, the Webbys received more than 11,000 entries from 65 countries around the world. From the thousands of entries submitted to The Webby Awards, only seven percent of entries were nominated for an award.
GPY&R Melbourne’s multi-award winning “Mobile Medic” campaign for Defence Force Recruiting is nominated across three categories – Best Use of Device Camera, Mobile & Experience Marketing and Augmented Reality.
Nominations were also received in the Best Visual Design category for the Air Force Paper Baron mobile game, Employment category for the Navy Triton Storm website and the Email Marketing category for Air Force Priority Roles eCRM.

Winners will be announced on Wednesday 22nd May in a ceremony in New York.
