The Gallery For Everyone site
Google Creative Lab approached the The Rumpus Room to build a website as part of the ‘For Everyone’ campaign to support the launch of the new Chromebook. They wanted to find a way to collect ideas around what it means for Chromebooks to be for everyone.
The Rumpus Room created The
Gallery for Everyone, allowing anyone to have a voice in the campaign through contribution and sharing.
The ask is simple: enter a ‘For’ phrase and image, pick a colour for your text and share with the world. All it takes is a picture and a couple of words. The best ones will end up in interesting places as the campaign is accompanied by broadcast, print, DOOH and online advertising.
We quickly saw the website become a spirited platform for self-expression and celebration, growing into a gallery ‘For Everyone’ by everyone.
Chrome was originally built to make a better web and now Chromebooks furthered that mission by making computers for everyone.
The Times Square experience
The website was accompanied by a Times Square experience including 9 different locations and 18 different types of digital billboards.
There were two focal points within the experience where passers-by were given the opportunity to post a photo of themselves in real-time to one of two live digital billboards running Chrome.
Over 10,700 images from all over the world were submitted and shown over the 3 day weekend. Every person received a photograph via email of their image up in Times Square.
