Google and 72andSunny Launch New Google Pixel Film with Eddie Betts

The campaign showcases how the Pixel allows users to express all sides of themselves - in this case, helping Eddie create the perfect latte


Google Australia and 72andSunny, with Essence and PHD, have continued their collaboration with the AFL in their latest film promoting Google Pixel in Australia.

Starring Eddie Betts, the Pixel brand film builds on Google’s broader partnership with the AFL, which includes recent work across Google Masterbrand and Nest Security.

The idea positions Google Pixel as the phone that supports and celebrates your individual passions, powered by Google’s most advanced camera yet. Through the lens of the Pixel camera, we follow Eddie in his attempts to create the perfect latte art. Perfecting his craft with the same steely focus that made him legendary on the field (complete with footy-style commentary), he uses his Pixel to document his efforts and demonstrate key Pixel features such as Portrait Mode, Ultrawide Lens and Magic Eraser. 

The film will run on TV & BVOD, alongside an integrated comms plan driving sales of Pixel 6a, to help drive consideration for the Pixel brand. This work builds on last year’s campaign for Google Pixel Real Tone by 72andSunny (November 2021) which celebrated Pixel’s unique ability to personalise and adapt to you.
