With more people than ever working from home in 2020, it’s safe to say we’ve had to put up with a few extra distractions in the workplace in recent months. Whether its pets, children, neighbours or even the postman, little interruptions have become a part of our working lives. But in a new global campaign for Mac subscription service Setapp, ad agency Droga5 ponder the consequences of forgetting to finish small tasks – with hilarious results.
On ‘Disappearance’, director Jeff Low follows an aggrieved wife whose husband goes missing after a magician becomes distracted by his phone during a magic show. In a dramatic montage, Mrs. Farrow searches high and low for her missing partner before eventually succumbing to her torment, throwing her arms in the air and falling to her knees during a torrential rainstorm.
Goldstein provided the score for the comedy short to amplify the drama of the scenario. With a rousing string section providing a sense of cinematic grandeur, the music reaches a crescendo before coming to a jarring halt as a Setapp rep offers viewers a simple solution for such troubles. Problem solved!
