Girl&Bear Adds Brett Kelsey as Head of Post Production

Brett Kelsey comes to Girl&Bear from cain&abelDDB where he was head of production for more than eight years

VCCP Group’s global content production studio, Girl&Bear, has today announced the appointment of Brett Kelsey as head of post production. Kelsey joins to help the team continue building its offering and capacity across film, audio, print, photography and digital production. He starts with immediate effect and will report into Claire Young, MD at Girl&Bear. 

Kelsey begins his role at Girl&Bear following an incredibly successful first year which has seen the agency win Oystercatchers' Best New Agency Award and three Marketing Society Awards for its work with Nationwide and Domino’s. 

Its unique approach to delivering craft without compromise has ignited Girl&Bear’s exponential growth with 43 new hires last year, 1087 completed productions which has included 78 TVC productions and 125 longer form and content productions.

Brett Kelsey comes to Girl&Bear from cain&abelDDB where he was head of production for more than eight years and was pivotal in establishing the production offering from the ground up. He helped build a solid team of 40 talented creatives including editors, animators, designers, producers, directors, photographers and resource team. 

With a wealth of experience, Kelsey has worked on small to large campaigns consisting of many different media from TVC to social to OOH for clients like Sony PlayStation, Lloyds Bank, McCain, Heineken and Argos. 

Some of his career highlights include John Lewis ‘& Partners’ launch in 2019, which saw him oversee the delivery of hundreds of assets for TV, social and DOOH. As well as the launch of the film and social assets for the Calm ‘Project 84’ campaign which won the agency an array of awards and accolades. He was also involved in the development of the Prince's Trust Cinema commercial (2012) that won a silver BTAA award. During the pandemic, Kelsey successfully ran a remote workforce while simultaneously significantly increasing revenue.

Prior to this, Kelsey has also worked for both Lowe&Partners and The&Partnership where he was also a key player in establishing successful production offerings for the agencies.
