Giant Films Wins Ciclope Africa Production Company of the Year

Ciclope Africa this week awarded the Production Company of the Year accolade to South Africa based Giant Films. Ciclope Africa’s streamed virtual special of the 2021 Ciclope Africa awards, celebrating the Best Crafts in film in Africa, also awarded the Agency of the Year accolade to Joburg based Joe Public United.

Showcasing the continent’s best in film craft across a broad spectrum of film formats, including commercials, short films, digital content and music videos, Giant Films were recognised as the continents top production house after scoring a record 14 Finalists, with winners across six diverse categories. Giant director Paul Ward and veteran Ian Gabriel helmed the award winning entries with Paul Ward directing the Best Music Video entrant for Moonga K ‘Who’s It Gonna Be’. Paul Ward’s Sanlam Caitlin was awarded the Best Cinematography accolade while Ian Gabriel’s work on Glo Telecom was awarded Best Production Design for Glo Telecom’s ‘Feliz Navidad’. Best Adapted Music Score was awarded for Ian Gabriel’s Glo ‘Street Football’ spot while the Best Original Music accolade went to Paul Ward for Sanlam ‘Caitlin’

Paul Ward secured the Best Edit accolade for work produced through Stink for Kärcher’s ‘Bring Back The Wow’.

The winners of the Ciclope Africa Awards automatically qualify to compete at  Ciclope’s celebrated International Award Ceremony to be held in Berlin in November.
