Educates customers on efficiency of new Volt

Gentleman Scholar’s Online Chevrolet Campaign

 

Commonwealth has teamed up with Gentleman Scholar to create a web experience for Chevrolet that educates their customer on the efficiencies of the Chevrolet Volt vehicle in the new online campaign at Chevrolet.com.  The project marries an interactive infographic portal with three separate videos that combine live action and motion graphics, a signature style of the design-driven Scholar.  
 
The interactive component explores the Volt's many benefits over standard vehicles, transforming monumental live data statistics (the number of electric miles, total miles, and gallons of fuel saved) into relatable and whimsical imagery - for example, the astounding information that the 130,147,047 electric miles driven by Volt owners is equal to walking the Great Wall of China ten thousand times.
The infographics were also used as part of Chevrolet’s  social media activities on http://facebook.com/chevroletvolt and the twitter handle @ChevyVolt.
 
 
 
 
"Collaborating with Chevrolet on this campaign was a real pleasure for us," remark Gentleman Scholar Creative Directors Will Johnson and Will Campbell.  "The infographic playfulness is really at the core of a lot of our designs, so being able to take those instincts and apply them in a more interactively experiential manner became a great way to exercise our brains."  
 
Edited by Heidi Black of Whitehouse Post, the delightful infographics are supported by the stories of three happy Chevrolet Volt owners: Priya, Patrick, and Mark, with three live action videos that demonstrate the unique driving experience of each individual.  Taking their cue from the optimism and enthusiastic tone of the testimonials of each Volt owner, the team at Gentleman Scholar continued the design style of the integrated campaign, seamlessly pairing the playful graphics to match each storyteller, giving each video a distinct personality and human connection to replicate the excitement and electricity each owner feels.
