For those of you who are in the know and read this column regularly, I’ve arrived somewhere eastern. Jet lagged, a little spaced out, but full of beans and extremely excited (and nervous) at the challenge that faces me over the next few weeks and months. This new move is not only advantageous but it’s also extremely ambitious… More information to come, I promise.
In the meantime, I want to take this opportunity to talk more about LBB. Over the past few months we’ve recognised that although loads of you love our site and use us regularly, many of you are still unaware of what you can actually do on LBB and how we can help with your day-to-day work. For instance, have you thought about using LBB for research purposes? How about reaching out through LBB to possible collaborators or business partners? Did you know that everyone has access to LBB and can create a personal profile? Are you aware that you can find a new job through LBB? Did you know that you can discover companies from around the world and not only find out about their clients, people and work, but build a personalized news stream.
Companies with listing pages can display reels of their current work and share their latest news through LBB. And those with profiles will soon have an extra bag of tricks to play with, thanks to our partnership with our big brothers at Adstream. Exciting times…
In fact, our accessibility is, in our view, one of our greatest strengths. To blow our own trumpets, while we produce awesome coverage, are quick to showcase great content and, between us all, are social butterflies, our leading light is that we’re free to access. OK, I know, I’m really flying the flag this week, but I’m not going to make any excuses, sometimes it has to be said. To help promote LBB, myself and deputy editor Laura Swinton are planning a tour of companies to meet you and your folk. We want to come in and talk LBB and hopefully we can work out ways to collaborate. We want to be able to continue with what we do and want as many people as possible to use us.
