It’s the editor's one-year LBB birthday

It’s been a year. Yesterday I celebrated my first Little Black Book Birthday. Does it feel like a year? Nope – but then since my third day, I’ve felt as though I've always been here.

After years in the wilderness and unhappy hours spent in companies that at times, made me lose a few marbles and sprout a few white hairs, Little Black Book has always felt like the perfect place for me to park my roots and grow. I’ll be honest it’s been the happiest year and also the busiest.

The last twelve months have seemed, at times, like a run away train – so much has happened. In January, after three months here, we rebranded and relaunched the site. Newsletters went from once in a blue moon, to twice a week (hellish) and then, thankfully and wisely, to four times a month. I went from a solo act to a threesome as two members joined the editorial team in the summer.

In the last ten months I’ve been to Amsterdam, Cannes and Barcelona; spent a month in NYC; visited Singapore and Hong Kong… and in-between I’ve managed a few weeks messing about in boats on the Mediterranean. We’ve watched readership grow by over 150 per cent and seen editorial content rise by over 100 per cent.  Yes, it’s been a crazy rollercoaster, but like all good rides, you’ve gotta hold on and scream if you have to… It’s been an exhilarating experience.  When people comment that I’m a lucky lady and that I have the dream job, all I can do is smile. Even at our most crazy and most stretched, I’ve never once considered throwing in the towel. I can say, hand on heart, I love my job.

So what does the next year hold? Anyone who knows me, and my competitive streak, will know that I’m not one to drop the pace. Editorially, I’m deviously working away on many plans and developments to ensure that Little Black Book becomes ‘faster, stronger and more productive’.
We’re having some ‘hush, hush’ chats and shan’t be resting on our laurels over the coming six months.

What does this mean to you, the user… the subscriber? Well, I can’t share our cunning plans quite yet, but Matt and I are planning world domination and as such, we’re after your hearts and minds.  I’d like to hear your opinion and gauge what you want and need from us.

Five minutes is all it would take – if you’d like to write to me and tell me what you want to see from Little Black Book. What  do you wish we featured? What, in your opinion we lack? Where, you think, we hit the nail on the head; all opinions would be greatly appreciated. We want to develop a product and a community that provides for and inspires and to do that we need your thoughts.

Email me: gabby@lbbonline.com and stay tuned; it’s all going to get seriously sexy over the coming months.
