Christian has been an executive producer at Futuristic since 2019

Futuristic Films, a full spectrum production and post studio, expands its leadership team with Christian Silberbauer adding head of production to his responsibilities. Christian has been an executive producer at Futuristic since 2019 working closely with Sarah Liles, the previous head of production of 15 years and a partner in the company.

In this role, Christian will continue to spearhead Futuristic’s production strategy and be a driving force behind new storytelling opportunities while overseeing a team of producers, directors and editors.

“After building Futuristic Films from the ground up, it's not easy to find someone who can come in and become an extension of the company, reflect its core philosophies and values while at the same time introducing new ideas and energy. Christian does exactly that with never ending enthusiasm and a heartfelt passion for production,” notes Sarah Liles, Futuristic partner.

After 12 years of freelancing in commercial film production, Christian went on staff at Acres, a startup production company in Tribeca. As a Senior Producer and eventually Head of Production, he worked on brand campaigns for State Farm, Airbnb and Gatorade while pitching and winning episodic and original entertainment properties. Christian eventually uprooted from New York and moved to Denver.

As EP at Futuristic, Christian has been focused on growing the talent roster and developing projects that move the needle creatively. During the pandemic, Christian was integral in helping maintain Futuristic’s core commercial, documentary and branded content services. Utilising the company’s internal resources, he found creative ways to adapt to the challenging landscape and expand Futuristic’s offerings. This included projects such as live stream events, remote productions, episodic production services, virtual music festivals, and passion projects that leveraged the entire team.

Christian’s ethos is to always engage the staff  and keep an open mindset to the projects that require creative problem solving. Whether that’s white water kayaking for a branded content piece with Yeti, chasing a train through the canyons of Moab, or fabricating a custom monster suit - that’s where the magic happens.

“Adding HOP to my title is a really exciting opportunity for me. Partners Jasper, Frank and Sarah have done such an incredible job building the company and putting successful processes in place,” Christian explained. “I really see it as an evolution of what we have already been doing for over a decade, but being flexible enough to adapt to an ever changing industry. I've always wanted to work in a place that had an open door policy to new people and ideas. That is very much the culture we are continuing to foster here and I've never been more energized for the future.”
