Future of Sustainable Innovation Rewritten

COMMON Pitch Chile is a 3–day event, running from November 29 – December 1, 2012, attracting thousands of entrepreneurs, fans, investors and supporters, dedicated to redefining Chile as a global leader in sustainable innovation. Common Pitch Chile’s focus is tomove beyond the exploitation of natural resources and unlock the potential of Chile’s most valuable human resource: human innovation.

 

This game-changing event for start-ups offers thousands of entrepreneurs and fans a full three and a half days of food for the mind, soul and body – rich dialogue with international and local leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators, celebrity speakers, famous judges, accompanied by live and cutting edge music.   

 

This will include two days of fun and inspiring boot camp workshops open to the public that will offer education on many different topics relevant for early stage entrepreneurs.  It will also include Start Up Chile’s Demo Day. The final day will feature the pitch competition where eight finalists selected from hundreds of applicants will pitch their start up to a panel of judges with the chance to win $35,000 in cash, other prizes and fame.

 

Judges include Alan Farcas, Executive Director of the Escuela de Negocios of the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez, Vanesa Kolodziej, Managing Partner of Nazca Ventures, Nicolas Szekasy, Co-founder and Managing Partner of Kaszek Ventures, David Assael, CEO and Managing Partner of ArchDaily and Juan Antonio Etcheverry, CEO of Virgin Mobile Chile.  The MC will be Rodrigo Guendelman, a journalist, radio and television personality.

 

Live entertainment will be provided by Devendra Banhart, Devotchka, Adanowsky, and Francisca Valenzuela among many others.  

 

In addition to the Honourable Mr. Gore, who offers a powerful voice for environmental protection, sustainability and innovation, international speakers will include Charly Alberti of R21, Tom Chi of Google X, David Cohen of TechStars, Sharon Vosmek of ASTIA, Matt Klein of the Blue Ridge Foundation, Thania Panopoulus of Impact Engine, Hernan Fernandez of Angel Ventures Mexico and Tomas Escobar of Cuevana, among many others.  

 

With the support of Ministry of Innovation of Chile (CORFO) and Fundacion Imagen de Chile and in partnership with Virgin Mobile Chile (the first Virgin company in Chile), and other progressive sponsor brands, COMMON Pitch Chile will examine and celebrate how a country and culture can move from exploiting mineral, land and sea based resources to create a healthy economy and future based on our most precious resource of all: human innovation.
