Keeping up with digital media developments at BVE

From MAM to Cloud Computing

BVE 2013 will once again offer a wide range of strategic and practical sessions that aim to demystify digital media issues and provide advice and assurance to content creators and broadcasters. With theatres focusing on 4K, cloud computing, post-production, audio, broadcast IT and connected TV issues, the vast majority of today’s pressing technological issues will be covered. The event takes place from 26-28 February 2013 at ExCeL, London.

Anita Pal, Event Director, i2i Events Group, said, “BVE’s free seminar programme is a crucial part of the show’s success and our visitors have come to expect us to provide a high level of expertise across a wide range of topical subjects. This year’s line-up, featuring representatives from global broadcasters, leading manufacturers and top post facilities, as well as expert individual practitioners, lives up to that expectation and will provide a rich combination of experience and advice.”

Confirmed sessions include Sky Deutschland’s VP of Broadcast Operations, Francesco Donato, discussing how to achieve quality and efficiency in transcoding processes for multiscreen delivery; Steve Fish, VP Engineering, Turner Broadcasting Systems on monetising content with metadata; a panel discussion on the implications of the cloud for post-production with spokespeople from Envy, Halo Post, Digital Media and VET; and a panel featuring BskyB, Framestore, Pinewood Studios, AndCubed and University of Southampton IT Innovation Centre discuss how HPC can be delivered through the cloud. The Audio Room features several sessions on sustainability and maintaining technological performance while reducing the carbon footprint, as well as examinations of different types of audio network installations, while in the Live Events Broadcasting Theatre NewTek will present case studies of innovation in today’s changing broadcast landscape.
